Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to lead responses to security incidents within AWS Cloud Response Ireland. You will triage issues, coordinate with internal service teams, and design tools to enable fast, scalable security operations across the organization.

The role requires a strong mix of technical security expertise, incident handling, and collaboration with multiple teams while balancing technical and business risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Java, .Net, C++ or similar OO language.
• Information security professional certification.
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
• Experience with threat modeling or risk identification techniques.
• Experience implementing security solutions at business division level.
• EU nationality required.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess security issues; coordinate timely remediation.
• Promote security across the company and build cross-team relationships.
• Develop pragmatic security solutions meeting business needs with manageable risk.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with hiring; participate in on-call shifts.
• Design and coordinate responses to multi-team security events.
