Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Systems Development Engineer to help raise the security bar across AWS and retail services. You will work with a global team to design new security features, deploy scalable software, and ensure secure by default configurations for customers.

The role requires strong programming skills in modern languages, experience in security, and EU residency. The EU-based Operations team operates around the clock, with on‑call rotations approximately every 4–6 weeks to protect

Qualifications

• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• This role requires you to be a national of an EU member state.

Responsibilities

• Own security for cloud and retail services, including EC2, S3, and more across Amazon Security.
• Join the EU-based Operations team and participate in 24/7/365 on-call support, approximately every 4–6 weeks.
• Design and deliver security features, deploy software through large automated systems, and support security software to improve user experience and security.
