Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Section Manager to join one of our client's construction teams on a project in Athlone. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and take responsibility for a section of the project, overseeing site operations, subcontractors, HSEQ, quality, logistics and programme delivery.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day construction activities within your section of the project.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, forepersons, trades and site teams.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to deliver works in line with the construction programme.
• Plan and coordinate the sequencing of works and finishing trades to maximise quality and minimise rework.
• Monitor labour, plant, materials and site resources.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, traffic management, site set-up and security requirements.
• Implement and maintain Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) systems and procedures.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure works meet required quality standards.
• Track progress against programme targets and identify potential delays or issues.
• Attend site and progress meetings and communicate effectively with the wider project team.
• Ensure subcontractors and site personnel comply with all relevant health & safety, quality and company procedures.
• Support the successful completion and handover of works.

Requirements

• 7+ years' site management experience within the construction industry.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, residential and/or fit-out & refurbishment projects.
• Previous experience as a Section Manager, Site Manager or similar is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site operations.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, trades and site teams.
• Good understanding of HSEQ, site logistics and construction programmes.
• Strong leadership, organisational and people-management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work to demanding programme, quality and production targets.
• Proactive, organised and hands-on approach.
