Job summary

PE Global Recruitment are partnering with a leading Construction organisation to recruit a Section Manager for the project in Athlone, Ireland. This full-time, permanent role involves day-to-day management of construction activities on a pharma project, leading subcontractors and site personnel to deliver safely and on programme.

You will coordinate with the Project Manager and engineers, ensure quality and HSEQ compliance, manage site logistics and drive productivity across sections.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in site management.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, residential, fit-out or refurbishment.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, forepersons and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site logistics.
• Understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
• Strong leadership and hands-on construction management.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day construction activities within your designated section of the project.

PE Global Recruitment are working with a leading Construction organisation to recruit a Section Manager to join the team in Athlone. This is a full time, permanent opportunity working on a Pharma project.

The Role

As Section Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities within your assigned area. You will oversee subcontractors, forepersons and site personnel, ensuring that work is properly planned, sequenced and delivered in accordance with project requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day construction activities within your designated section of the project.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with company HSEQ policies, procedures and standards.
• Promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture on site.
• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors, forepersons and site teams.
• Monitoring progress against the construction programme and taking proactive action to address delays.
• Planning and coordinating the sequencing of trades to maximise productivity and minimise disruption and rework.
• Managing site logistics, including deliveries, traffic management, access, storage and material movements.
• Assisting with site set-up, security and the efficient use of site facilities.
• Monitoring labour, plant, materials and other resources to ensure they are available when required.
• Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring works are completed to the required standards and specifications.
• Identifying and resolving construction issues in a timely and practical manner.
• Coordinating with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and other members of the project team.
• Monitoring workmanship and ensuring defects and snags are identified and rectified promptly.
• Maintaining effective communication with all project stakeholders.
• Supporting the Project Manager in achieving project programme, quality, safety and production targets.
• Providing regular updates on progress, resources, risks and site issues.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years’ experience in site management within the construction industry.
• Experience across one or more of the following sectors: commercial, industrial, residential, fit-out or refurbishment.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, forepersons and site teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, sequencing and site logistics.
• A good understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under programme pressure.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with subcontractors and site personnel.
• A practical, hands-on approach to construction management.
