Job summary
Amazon in Ireland seeks a passionate engineer to design, develop, and operate distributed control plane services for Sable, Amazon's flagship OLTP storage platform. You will collaborate with principal engineers to craft scalable solutions and own features end-to-end, from design to production, with a strong emphasis on operability.
You will participate in on-call rotations, build monitoring and automation, and write well-tested code while driving system reliability improvements across tier-1
Qualifications
- Experience in professional software development.
- Experience programming with at least one language.
- Experience delivering complex software to customers.
- Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including reviews, source control, testing, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate distributed control plane services for Sable - Amazon's mission-critical OLTP storage platform.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers and senior engineers on technical solutions for complex problems.
- Own end-to-end delivery of features from design through deployment, including design docs and production-ready code.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alarming, and automation for operational excellence.
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Write well-tested code and contribute to code reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency and drive them to production.
