Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the Business Information Governance (BIG) team. You will design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems for content management infrastructure.

The role also involves designing event-driven architectures, building scalable data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform content.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable distributed systems for content management infrastructure
• Design and implement event-driven architectures
• Develop and maintain scalable data processing pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions for content transformation
• Contribute to the deprecation and migration of legacy systems while building next-generation replacements
• Participate in operational excellence initiatives, including on-call rotations and system monitoring
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation
