Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Database Migration for Amazon RDS team in Ireland. You will design and operate scalable, serverless migration components that span assessment, schema conversion and data movement, collaborating with RDS, Aurora, and AI/ML teams.

You will own reliability, participate in architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives while maintaining a strong customer focus and delivering

Qualifications

Experience developing production software in a professional setting.
Experience designing or architecting reliable, scalable systems.
Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, serverless microservices powering migration lifecycles.
Build agentic workflows that integrate with developer tools and enable migrations.
Own operational excellence: SLAs, dashboards, runbooks, root-cause analysis.
Contribute to system architecture decisions and participate in code reviews.
Collaborate with solution architects and product teams to deliver features.
Mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing.
Participate in on-call rotations and operational initiatives.
