Job summary

CPL is expanding its European technical sales team and seeks a Solution Consultant (SME level) to support SMB and API-driven engagements. You will work with sales, product, and engineering to translate API and AI capabilities into business outcomes.

In this role you will lead technical discovery, design solutions, deliver demos, and advise on security and compliance while partnering with cross-functional teams to scale repeatable technical sales motions across Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Solution Consulting, Sales Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong on REST APIs, auth, and integration patterns.
• Experience with SaaS, cloud, AI or API-driven products.
• Able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and business stakeholders.
• Skilled in creating architectural diagrams and solution docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand integration requirements and system architecture.
• Translate business goals into solution designs, API integration approaches, and deployment strategies.
• Deliver tailored demos, walkthroughs, and light proofs of concept.
• Advise on authentication models, rate limits, endpoints, data flows, and performance considerations.
• Support conversations around data handling, encryption, authentication, and regulatory compliance.
• Respond to security questionnaires and assist in risk discussions.
• Clearly articulate enterprise-grade security standards and best practices.
• Partner with Sales to shape technically sound and commercially aligned proposals.
• Document architecture recommendations and onboarding plans.
• Identify potential technical blockers early and provide mitigation strategies.
• Support smooth technical handover to Customer Success post-sale.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to escalate issues and share customer feedback.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases and solution playbooks.
• Help scale repeatable technical sales motions across the team.

What You'll Be Doing

Pre-Sales Technical Leadership

• Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand integration requirements and system architecture

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication patterns, integration workflows, and architecture design
• Comfortable discussing security topics (encryption, IAM, data residency, compliance frameworks)
• Experience supporting SaaS, cloud, AI, or API-driven products
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders
• Experience creating architectural diagrams and solution documentation
