Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking a driven Sales Assistant with building products experience to join our client’s team in Dublin City Centre. You will provide excellent customer service at the trade counter, assist with product queries, and handle orders to maximise sales.

This permanent, full-time role requires a minimum of 3 years in building products, strong knowledge of materials, and IT proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office. An attractive salary and employee discount are on offer.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in building products or construction.
• Previous sales experience, ideally at a trade counter.
• Excellent knowledge of building materials.
• IT proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the trade counter with product queries and orders.
• Process POS transactions, generate quotations and maximise sales.
• Receive, check, and record incoming stock deliveries.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch efficiently.
• Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock counts.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth warehouse and counter operations.

Your new role includes

• Providing excellent customer service at the trade counter by assisting customers with product queries and orders.
• Processing POS transactions, generating quotations and maximising sales opportunities
• Receiving, checking, and accurately recording incoming stock deliveries.
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch efficiently and carefully.
• Maintaining accurate stock records and conducting regular stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth day-to-day warehouse and trade counter operations.

Experience you need

• Minimum 3 years of experience working within the building product/ construction is essential
• Previous sales experience, ideally operating the trade counter or similar position
• Excellent knowledge of building materials
• IT Proficiency (ERP systems and Microsoft in particular)
