Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is assisting a well-established Dublin construction supplier to recruit a Trade Counter & Warehouse Assistant. This full-time role combines trade counter sales, customer service and warehouse duties, with hours 7:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will greet customers, take orders, handle enquiries by phone/email, assist with stock, load/unload, and operate forklifts. The ideal candidate has 2+ years’ experience in a trade counter or warehouse role and forklift

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a trade counter, sales or warehouse-related role.
• Understanding of, or interest in, the construction and building materials industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the trade counter and take orders.
• Sell building products to trade and retail customers.
• Handle enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Process orders accurately and assist with stock control.
• Load and unload deliveries and operate forklifts.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse and counter area.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Trade Counter & Warehouse Assistant on behalf of a well-established business operating within the construction and building materials industry based in Dublin 15.
The Role

This is a hands-on and varied position, combining trade counter sales, customer service and warehouse responsibilities.
It is a full-time permanent role. The working hours are7:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting and greeting customers at the trade counter
• Taking orders
• Selling construction and building products directly to trade and retail customers
• Handling sales enquiries and orders by phone, email and in person
• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Assisting with stock control and general administration
• Supporting field-based sales representatives and the wider sales team
• Picking and preparing orders for customer collection and delivery
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers
• Operating counterbalance and high-reach forklifts
• Ensuring orders are accurately picked, checked and dispatched
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse and trade counter
• Working independently when required while contributing positively as part of a team

Requirements:

• Previous experience, ideally 2+ years, in a trade counter, sales orwarehouse-relatedrole.
• An understanding of, or interest in, the construction and building materials industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong customer service and commercially focused mindset
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid counterbalance and high-reach forklift licences
• A practical, hands-on approach to work
• A willingness to learn and take on a varied range of responsibilities
