Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is seeking a Sales & Warehouse Assistant for a busy roofing and building materials firm based in Cork. The role spans sales office and warehouse, handling customer interactions, orders and stock control.

The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, a strong communicator, with forklift licences and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm, with opportunities for progression.

We are currently recruiting for a Sales & Warehouse Assistant on behalf of a well-established and successful business operating within the roofing and building materials sector. With a strong presence across Ireland and a long-standing reputation within the construction industry, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and commercially focused team based in Cork.

The Role

This is a hands-on, varied position where no two days will be the same. You will work across both the sales office and warehouse, supporting customers, processing orders and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Meeting and greeting customers at the front desk
• Selling products directly to customers and providing excellent customer service
• Handling sales enquiries and orders by phone and email
• Assisting with stock control and general office administration
• Supporting field-based sales representatives
• Picking and preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers
• Operating counterbalance and high-reach forklifts
• Ensuring orders are accurately prepared and dispatched
• Working independently when required, while also contributing effectively as part of a team

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially aware, customer-focused and a strong communicator. You will be dealing with customers at various levels, so confidence, professionalism and a positive attitude are essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a sales, customer service, trade counter, warehouse or similar environment
