Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment is assisting a local supermarket group in Galway to hire an experienced Retail Deli Manager for two stores. The candidate will lead the deli team, manage day-to-day operations, ensure high standards of food safety, and drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service in a busy fresh-food environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' supervisory or assistant management experience in fresh food or deli.
• Strong knowledge of stock control, ordering, rotation and waste reduction.
• Excellent customer service with passion for food and quality.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the deli, including presentation of hot and cold food counters and food safety.
• Lead, support, and motivate a team, creating a positive and customer-focused working environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring the deli operates efficiently and to a high standard.
• Manage stock levels, place orders for fresh food products, and minimise waste through effective stock control.
• Maintain accurate HACCP, temperature, cleaning, and food safety records in line with company and legal requirements.
• Support the team during busy periods and lead by example with a hands-on approach.
• Help drive sales and profitability by maintaining attractive displays, controlling costs, and delivering a great customer experience.
