Job summary

Blue Forge Recruitment represents a progressive Irish supermarket group seeking a Retail Senior Baker for Galway/Donegal sites. The role requires leadership of the bakery team, production of fresh bread, and maintaining high HACCP standards.

Typical early shifts with a flexible roster ensure smooth daily operations and customer service excellence. The successful candidate will have at least 2 years in a busy bakery, baking production experience, and a knack for presentation.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience working/managing busy bakery environment.
• Experience in baking production, preferably bread and food preparation.
• Ability to make baked goods from scratch or work with par-baked products.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Creative approach with good eye for presentation and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the bakery department.
• Produce high-quality breads and bakery products while maintaining consistency across all items.
• Plan, organise, and manage bakery production to meet customer demand.
• Ensure products are baked fresh and presented to the highest standards.
• Train, mentor, and support bakery team members to achieve excellent performance.
• Manage workflow and delegate tasks to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Maintain attractive, fully stocked bakery displays to maximise sales.
• Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through effective production planning.
• Deliver excellent customer service and professionally handle customer queries or special requests.
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the bakery.
• Drive sales and continuously look for opportunities to improve bakery performance and profitability.

Our client is seeking to fill in senior and junior roles in their busy bakery department for different sites in Galway and Donegal. These stores are easily commutable for candidates residing in Headford, Roundstone, Oranmore, Leenaun and Carndonagh, Letterkenny and surrounding areas. This an ideal opportunity for candidates with previous experience working in a Bakery, Supermarket bakery or bakery production work. A great fit for this role will be someone who can work along with a team to help run the bakery smoothly, achieve sales targets and ensures that the bakery is up to HACCP standards. An ideal candidate can work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced and high-volume bakery. Working alongside the bakery team, you will support operational efficiency, contribute to sales growth, and help maintain a positive environment in the department.
