Job summary

Harmony Care is seeking a Social Care Worker for our SCSIP service based in Portarlington, Co Laois. You will provide direct care, support individual Care Plans, promote wellbeing, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to safeguard children.

The role requires compassionate, resilient individuals with a strong commitment to child welfare, safeguarding, and family collaboration, with flexible hours across full-time or part-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• BA in Applied Social Care Work (level 7/8) is required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
• Maintain Health and Safety standards and risk assessments.
• Ensure safety of young people and staff within the premises.
• Support development of policies and best practices in a homely environment.
• Build therapeutic, professional relationships with children in care.
• Meet the physical, psychological, social and emotional needs of children.
• Facilitate family time and support care plans and education.
• Promote holistic needs including social, recreational, medical, dietary and religious requirements.
• Encourage participation of children in decisions affecting their lives.
• Collaborate with other professionals and agencies.
• Attend reviews and planning meetings to advocate for children's needs.
• Attend team meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with safeguarding duties and report concerns to Tusla.
• Maintain daily records and ensure effective handovers.
