Job summary

Harmony Care is seeking a Social Care Worker to support young adults in Aftercare Services in Laois. The role offers full-time/part-time hours with flexible scheduling and reports to the Centre Manager.

You will work to create positive outcomes, develop independence, and provide practical and emotional support, while maintaining safeguarding and care plan compliance in a residential setting.

Qualifications

• BA in Applied Social Care Work (level 7/8) or equivalent.
• A full clean Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Build therapeutic, professional, and caring relationships with children in your care.
• Ensure that children’s physical, psychological, social, and emotional needs are met in accordance with the Child Care Act, 1991.
• Facilitate family time and support education, training, and employment in line with each child’s Care Plan/Placement Plan.
• Promote the holistic needs of children, including their social, recreational, medical, dietary, and religious requirements.
• Enable and encourage children to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
• Respond to risks using the risk management framework in place.
• Attend Child in Care Reviews/Placement Planning meetings and other relevant meetings to advocate for the child’s needs.
