Job summary

Kota is seeking a Senior Product Designer for Kota Embed to shape how embedded insurance and retirement products are experienced across platforms. You will work remotely with flexible hours, crafting surfaces where data models drive design choices and partnering with a broad set of engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will influence patterns, champion a design-system mindset, and treat prototypes as the specification.

Qualifications

• Experience designing complex B2B/API-driven products.
• Explain how data model constraints the interface and why it mattered.
• Experience conducting and facilitating user research and rapid prototyping.
• Ability to lead design ceremonies and align stakeholders around decisions.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to convert patterns into components.

Responsibilities

• Designs Kota Embed surfaces where data models constrain the interface and drive decisions.
• Collaborate with 6–10 stakeholders in major design decisions and ensure prototypes serve as specifications.
• Champion outcomes-over-outputs by defining problems, assumptions, and success criteria before proposing solutions.
• Promote design systems by turning recurring interactions into reusable components.
• Lead usability sessions with developers and stakeholders and facilitate design ceremonies to embed design in the team.
