Job summary

Telnyx is seeking a hands-on Core Wireless Engineer to join the Core Wireless Squad, responsible for running and improving Telnyx's wireless EPC infrastructure across data centres and roaming partners. You'll diagnose end-to-end signalling issues, decode pcap traces, and coordinate with vendors to keep the mobile core healthy.

In this role you'll work deep protocol-level investigations, contribute to tooling, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years operating telecom infrastructure (EPC, HSS/HLR, STP, PGW, SMF) or equivalent.
• Strong mobile core signaling knowledge: Diameter (S6a, S6d, Gx), SS7/MAP, GTPv2-C, GTP-U.
• Proficient reading pcap traces and protocol analysis with tshark/Wireshark.

Responsibilities

• Investigate end-to-end attachment failures across Diameter/SS7/GTP.
• Decode pcap traces to isolate signaling failures.
• Coordinate with roaming partners and vendors for root-cause analysis.
• Operate HSS/HLR, STPs, PGWs, SMFs, and GTP proxies.
