Job summary

Telnyx in Ireland is seeking a hands-on operations engineer for the Core Wireless Squad. You will debug real subscriber issues, analyze pcap traces, coordinate with roaming partners and vendors, and keep the mobile core healthy through practical, protocol-level investigations.

The role requires 3+ years operating telecom infrastructure (EPC, HSS/HLR, STP, PGW, SMF), strong knowledge of Diameter, SS7/MAP, and comfort with Linux and automation tools (Ansible, Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• 3+ years operating or engineering telecom infrastructure such as EPC, HSS/HLR, DRA, STP, PGW or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of mobile core signalling: Diameter (S6a, S6d, Gx), SS7/MAP/TCAP, GTPv2-C, GTP-U.
• Comfort reading pcap traces with tshark/Wireshark protocol dissection and IMSI/AVP tracing.

Responsibilities

• Investigate subscriber attachments and troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity issues across S6a, MAP, and GTP protocols.
• Operate and troubleshoot EPC infrastructure components (HSS/HLR, DRAs, STPs, PGWs, SMFs, GTP proxies).
• Coordinate with roaming partners and NOCs, escalate and drive incident resolution.
• Respond to alerts, participate in on-call rotations, and write post-incident learnings.
