Job summary

Three Ireland is seeking a Network Test Engineer specialising in RAN for the Networks Test Team. You will manage the Test Lab RAN environment to ensure stability for MCN testing, working with engineers across design, solutions and operations to deliver high-quality voice, data and messaging services.

The role offers hands-on testing across 2G/3G/4G/LTE and 5G NR with exposure to end-to-end mobile network validation and a fast-paced learning environment in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Strong background in mobile RAN networks and testing frameworks.
• Ability to design, execute, and maintain RAN test plans across 2G/3G/4G/LTE and 5G NR.

Responsibilities

• Manage and drive all RAN related testing across the mobile network.
• Design, execute, and maintain test plans for RAN features.
• Perform functional, regression, interoperability, and performance testing on RAN nodes.
• Analyse network logs, protocol traces, and KPIs with tools like Wireshark/TEMS/Nemo.
• Collaborate with RAN design, core, transport and operations teams to resolve defects.
• Automate test execution and reporting using scripting languages.
• Prepare detailed test reports and validation summaries for release sign-off.
