Qualifications

• Native Malayalam speaker with full command of the script.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, translation, localization, or regional-language data review.
• Exact character-level accuracy.
• Systematic application of taxonomy across pages.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Responsibilities

• Source Malayalam PDFs with multimodal elements and record their sources.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region and assign types and indices.
• Record relationships: link regions to their parent component via an identifier.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce text exactly in Malayalam script, flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work: tasks reviewed end-to-end by experienced annotators.
