Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Ireland is seeking a part-time Security Engineer (Fractional) to elevate an established technology organization toward an enterprise-grade security posture.

You will shape security strategy, implement practical controls, and mentor IT and engineering teams on secure coding and DevSecOps. This role supports cross-border privacy and security requirements across Europe, Asia, and Australia while advising startups on foundational security practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in security engineering, cloud security, app security, DevSecOps.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD security, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
• Ability to assess controls in cloud configurations, repos, pipelines, and tooling.
• Translate findings into practical, prioritized recommendations.
• Experience with client security assessments, audits, and vendor reviews.
• Knowledge of governance, risk management and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Security certifications (AWS/GCP/CISSP/CISM/CISA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 12-month security roadmap balancing enterprise security with agility.
• Establish and maintain a security risk register and remediation prioritization.
• Mentor IT Manager and translate activities into measurable security controls.
• Lead security guidance on secure coding, OWASP, DevSecOps, and best practices.
• Strengthen controls across cloud, dev environments, repos, CI/CD, IAM, and endpoints.
• Ensure GDPR, privacy regulations across Europe, Asia, Australia alignment.
• Standardize responses to client security questionnaires and audits.
• Develop policies for incident response, access control, continuity, and DR.
