Lead Platform Architect 12-Month Contract Dublin (Hybrid/Remote Flexi)

A leading global payments technology organisation is seeking a Lead Platform Architect to join its Infrastructure Design Services team. This is a high-impact Lead Platform Architect contract role focused on designing secure, scalable, and high-availability internet infrastructure across global platforms.

As a Lead Platform Architect, you will play a key role from early design through to delivery, producing Technical Architecture Documents (TADs) and ensuring infrastructure solutions align with enterprise security and operational standards. This Lead Platform Architect position offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale systems within a highly regulated, global environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Platform Architect, designing end-to-end internet and middleware infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise standards
• Produce Technical Architecture Documents (TADs), logical flows, models, and other architectural artefacts
• Collaborate with application teams, engineers, and stakeholders to define and refine system requirements
• Lead problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management across infrastructure components
• Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies while ensuring alignment with security, scalability, and availability principles

About You

• Proven experience as a Lead Platform Architect or similar infrastructure architecture role in complex enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of web middleware, operating systems, network principles, and internet infrastructure design
• Experience with load balancers, web application firewalls, cloud technologies, and database systems
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, network micro‑segmentation, and YAML-based deployment practices
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across global, matrix‑based teams and drive architectural alignment
