Job summary

The Q Cafe Company Limited is hiring a Relief Chef Manager to support kitchen operations across the West of Ireland (Limerick/Clare/Galway). The role covers five days in seven, daytime hours, 40 hours per week, and involves culinary supervision, stock control, and menu execution to maintain high standards.

Garda Vetting is required and travel is involved with own transport. The position is on-site in Galway with meals on duty and free parking provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef in various culinary environments.
• In-depth knowledge of different cooking techniques, ingredients and cuisines.
• Ability to work efficiently in high pressure situations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to the highest standard.
• Supervise and direct kitchen and service staff as required.
• Work with and order products within agreed budgets as set out by the company.
• Follow and implement menu cycles on a monthly basis.
• Operate HACCP and Health and Safety procedures in line with legal requirements.

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Relief Chef Manager to assist in the running of units in the West of Ireland (Limerick/Clare/Galway), working five over seven days, daytime hours, 40 hours a week. You will provide culinary expertise and support to various units during staff shortages or peak periods. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth operation of kitchens and maintain high standards of food preparation and service.
