Enable Ireland invites applications for Relief Adult Support Workers to join Clare Adult Day Services (Ennis and Miltown Malbay). The role involves working as part of a team in adult day services and service owners’ homes to provide personalised supports, assist with personal care, mobility and community access, and support training and inclusion in local communities.

Required QQI Level 5 in Care Skills or equivalent, minimum one year’s experience with adults with disabilities, a full, clean

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Care Skills or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of one year’s experience working with adults with disabilities.
• Full clean driver’s license with no restrictions and willingness to drive Enable Ireland vehicles.
• Eligible to work in the state.
• Effective communication skills and good recording practices.
• Knowledge of social model of disability, Adult Protection, and lone working.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team within the adult day service, service owners’ own home and residential settings, providing personalised supports.
• Assist with personal care needs and mobility; support access to services in the community and via the virtual day service.
• Encourage and support opportunities for training, employment and greater inclusion in local communities.
• Follow person-centred planning and the Key Worker system; adhere to New Directions guidelines.
