Job summary

Marks Sattin client in Ireland seeks a Regional Financial Controller to support two recently acquired businesses during integration, acting as the Irish SME for finance to the UK head office. The role involves significant travel between Dublin and Kilkenny and serves as the main finance contact for ROI teams.

The successful candidate will lead month-end close, multi-entity reporting, and provide commercial financial insights to drive profitability and budgeting across ROI entities.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA).
• Experience owning month end close.
• Experience of multi site/multi entity group reporting and consolidation.
• Hands-on style in a fast-paced environment with flexibility across stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills including modelling and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely management and financial reporting for Irish subsidiaries.
• Monthly management accounts and P&L reporting for ROI entities.
• Reconciliation of intra-group balances.
• Margin analysis and profitability and performance on a job level basis.
• Partner with businesses to provide commercial insight and support including budgeting and job profitability.
• Review project costs, profitability and performance through job level analysis.
• Oversight of day-to-day finance and supervision and training for subsidiary level bookkeepers and finance staff.
• Prepare and file VAT returns for all companies, CIS returns where necessary.
• Ad hoc support as required.

The role will require regular travel between the two subsidiaries (Dublin and Kilkenny). But the successful applicant will join the business during an exciting time for all parties. This person will act as the Irish SME for finance to the UK head office.

This role will act as the main point of contact for the finance team in ROI.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely management and financial reporting for Irish Subsidiaries.
• Monthly management accounts and P&L reporting for ROI entities
• Reconciliation of intra group balances

Skills and requirements

Essential:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA)
• Experience of owning month end close

• Hands on style of working in a face paced environment and ability to be flexible working with different levels of stakeholders.
• Strong excel skills including modelling and forecasting

Desirable:

• Experience using Xero accounting software
• Relevant industry experience, construction
