Job summary

Barden are delighted to be partnering with a leading, high-growth business operating across Ireland and the UK, part of a large international group, on a key controllership role in Dublin. This hands-on role sits at the heart of the finance function, owning core areas of the control framework, balance sheet, and supporting a major transformation programme.

You will oversee month-end close for ROI and UK entities, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate across Finance, Payroll, Procurement,

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with controllership or financial reporting experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge (IFRS 16, IAS 37).
• Experience in high-volume, multi-entity business across Ireland and the UK.
• Strong month-end close, reconciliation and balance sheet experience.
• Ability to challenge and take ownership.
• Transformation or ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close & reporting across ROI and UK entities.
• Oversee balance sheet accounts, including accruals, provisions, fixed assets and leases.
• Review journals and reconciliations, making sure they're well supported and audit-ready.
• Strengthen internal controls, tackle recurring issues at the root, and drive lasting process improvements.
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audit.
• Help design future-state processes, controls and reporting as accounting lead on the transformation programme.
• Build strong relationships across Finance, Payroll, Procurement, HR and Operations.
• Lead, coach and develop team members.

The business has grown significantly in recent years through organic growth and acquisitions, and has ambitious plans to expand further.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the finance function. You'll own core areas of the financial control framework and balance sheet, make sure the numbers are complete, accurate and well supported, and play a central part in a major finance transformation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close & reporting across ROI and UK entities
