Job summary

NSR Associates in Ireland is seeking a commercially astute Financial Controller to lead a team of 4-6 staff across Ireland and Europe from its Co Kildare base. You will report to the Group Financial Director and drive month-end processes, cashflow management and robust financial controls.

This role emphasizes leadership over numbers, with a focus on growth, cost control, and strategic analysis. Based in Maynooth, the position offers a strong benefits package and a clear career path.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with substantial FC or similar experience.
• Experience in UK VAT & CIS.

• Construction sector exposure advantageous.

Reporting into the Group Financial Director you will manage and drive a team of 4-6 Staff in Ireland & Europe. We are seeking a commercially astute and positive character to support the FD in this growth phase.

This will involve leading from the front , showing calmness in high pressure situations and showing entrepreneurial astuteness.

You will NOT be lost in a number in this role and will have the chance to make a real difference. We don't want someone that can't show initiative and leadership and for these reasons someone someone coming from a family business where they have accountability and a voice would be great.

What we're looking for

• Qualified Accountant
• Considerable Financial Controller or similar experience across Accounting and Finance
• Experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience of UK VAT & CIS.
• Experience creating financial statements, general ledger functions and month end/year end close process
• Experience of growing companies where costs need to be controlled in line with growth
• IT skills, proficient in the use of project/construction accounting software, financial reporting applications, spread sheets and databases – ERP implantation skills would be highly advantageous
• Some experience in the Construction Sector would be advantageous be that Suppliers, Main Contractors or Sub-Contractors

Range of Duties & Tasks in the role

• Prepare and publish monthly financial statements
• Reconcile the Financial Ledger, managing cashflow, authorizing invoices, ensuring approval by the Financial Director for anything over a specific value
• Prepare & submit VAT, RCT, CIS and comply with any other statutory reporting requirements and tax filing.
• Lead budget reviews, tracking actual vs target
• Managing Business Expense Tracking System
• Be aware of Risk management & Debt
• Support preparation for financial audits
• Provide analytical support for investment decisions, preparing business case documentation & presentations for PROS vs CONS
