Job summary

PREM Group in Waterford is seeking an experienced Reception Manager to lead the front office team in a fast-paced hotel environment. You will manage check-ins/outs, inquiries, and reservations while ensuring top-quality guest service and smooth daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a senior receptionist role within hospitality, be fluent in English, and capable of multi-tasking. This full-time role involves shift work, including weekends, and offers opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or at minimum 2 years senior receptionist experience.
  • Previous PMS experience.
  • Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi task.
  • Communicate fluently in English (written & oral).

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the efficient running of all front office tasks and roles ensuring highest standard of customer service provided by all team members.
  • Training and development of existing and new staff through SOPs.
  • Combine the role with reception & reservation cover; welcoming guests, check-in/check-out, and operating the switchboard when required.
  • Maintaining procedures and implementing new procedures when necessary.
  • Managing reception payroll and budget.
  • Oversee payments and invoices for reservations, group deposits and reception cashier.
  • Drive upselling of all departments in collaboration with Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Handle guest complaints, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer care and monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain understanding of property facilities and processes and contribute to high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service and billing.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service and be available to assist with queries.
  • Manage staff in absence of Senior Management and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Use onsite computer systems, email, Microsoft packages, room rate scheduling systems and third-party booking engines.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

Responsibility for the efficient running of all front office tasks and roles ensuring highest standard of customer service provided by all team members.

Responsibility for training and development of existing and new members of staff through use of SOP's

Managing reception payroll V budget

Maintain and oversee payments and invoices for reservations, group deposits and reception cashier.

Drive upselling of all departments while working closely with the hotel Sales and Marketing Manager

Dealing with guests and fellow colleagues on a constant daily basis

To deal with any guest complaints, queries and suggestions quickly and efficiently

To make sure the highest standards of customer care are met at all times and to monitor customer satisfaction regularly and resolve any outstanding issues to ensure future business

Maintain a thorough understanding of properties facilities and processes, and contribute to a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts

To provide friendly and efficient service and available at all times to assist with any queries

To assume responsibility for any issues in the absence of Senior Management and to ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times

To manage staff ensuring company policy is adhered to at all times

Use of onsite computer systems as well as email and Microsoft packages, room rate scheduling systems and also third party booking systems and engines

Other duties as required

The ideal candidate for this position:

Must have previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or at minimum 2 years senior receptionist experience

Previous PMS experience

Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service

Must be a team player with the ability to multi task

Be able to work on your own initiative.

Must be standards driven and detail orientated, with the desire to progress within the hospitality industry

Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Communicate fluently in English (written & oral).

The role will involve shift work meaning you will be required to work 5 days out of a 7 day week (weekend work also will be involved).
