Job summary

The Hoban Hotel Kilkenny, operated by PREM Group, is seeking a hands-on Accommodation Working Supervisor to lead the Accommodation Department, ensure room and public area standards, and support the Accommodation Manager.

You will work alongside the Accommodation Team, train Assistants, supervise rostering, coordinate room allocations with Front Office, and manage holiday cover, while maintaining exceptional guest experiences in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accommodation Supervisor or at least 2 years as Accommodation Assistant.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean, service, and inspect guest bedrooms and public areas to ensure exceptional standards.
• Work alongside the Accommodation Team and perform daily room cleaning duties.
• Supervise, support and train Accommodation Assistants to maintain quality.
• Assist with rostering and ensure adequate departmental cover.
• Take day-to-day ownership in the manager's absence, including holiday cover.
• Coordinate room allocations with Front Office and manage group arrivals/requests.
• Ensure hotel, hygiene, health & safety, and quality standards are followed.
• Prioritise workloads and resolve daily operational issues.
• Liaise with other departments for smooth daily operations and guest experience.

About the role

The Role

Reporting directly to the Accommodation Manager, you will have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be standards-driven, with a strong commitment to maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene throughout the property.

This is a hands‑on Accommodation Working Supervisor role with a significant focus on the cleaning and servicing of guest bedrooms and public areas. The successful candidate will be expected to actively work alongside the Accommodation Team on a daily basis and carry out room cleaning duties as a core part of the role.

In addition to these operational duties, you will support the Accommodation Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the department and assist with supervising the team. You will also be expected to provide leadership and departmental support during periods when the Accommodation Manager is absent, including annual leave and other planned absences.

Ideally, you will already be working in a supervisory position or have at least two years' experience as an Accommodation Assistant and be ready to take the next step in your career. You will be comfortable receiving direction from the Accommodation Manager while also being confident in guiding, supporting, and delegating tasks to Accommodation Assistants when required.

The ideal candidate will lead by example, demonstrate strong initiative, assist the team during busy periods, and ensure all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards at all times.

Ability to communicate fluently in English and a friendly manner are also important for this role.

As The Hoban Hotel is a 24/7 operation, the role will involve shift work, weekend work, and public holiday work as required by the needs of the business.

• Assisting with staff rostering and ensuring adequate departmental cover in line with business needs.
• Taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day operation of the department in the Accommodation Manager's absence, including holiday cover.
• Preparing, managing, and updating rooming lists, while working closely with the Front Office team to coordinate room allocations, room availability, group arrivals, and guest requests.
• Ensuring all hotel, hygiene, health & safety, and quality standards are followed.
• Using initiative to prioritise workloads and resolve day‑to‑day operational issues.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure efficient daily operations and an exceptional guest experience.
