Job summary

Arcon Recruitment Services is seeking an Equipment Technical Submission Engineer for our client in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

The role focuses on coordinating technical submissions from design through to procurement, with close collaboration across estimating, procurement, engineering and site teams. The candidate should have a Mechanical/Building Services background, BIM experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict document control and compliance with DW144/SMACNA

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within HVAC, Building Services or Mechanical Contracting.
• Experience preparing technical submissions and procurement schedules.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of DW144 and SMACNA standards.
• Experience with BIM models and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate equipment technical submissions for client approval.
• Review engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Raise and manage RFIs where clarification is required.
• Attend design coordination and client meetings.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical documentation and equipment information.
• Develop procurement schedules from design drawings and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate the review and approval of equipment technical submissions.
• Issue approved documentation to the procurement team.
• Maintain document control, revision histories and technical submission registers.
• Track RFIs and monitor technical approvals throughout each project.
• Provide technical support to installation teams during project delivery.
• Work with Estimating, Procurement, Engineering and Site Teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.

Equipment Technical Submission Engineer – Castlebar

An established and growing engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Equipment Technical Submission Engineer to join its Pre-Construction team based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical or Building Services Engineer with experience in HVAC or mechanical contracting who enjoys coordinating technical documentation, working with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting major construction projects from design through to procurement.

Working closely with estimating, procurement, engineering and site teams, you will play a key role in ensuring all equipment technical submissions are prepared, coordinated and approved to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate equipment technical submissions for client approval.
• Review engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Raise and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) where clarification is required.
• Attend design coordination and client meetings.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain technical documentation and equipment information.
• Develop procurement schedules from design drawings and engineering documentation.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on pharmaceutical, semiconductor or data centre projects.
• Previous experience working with HVAC ductwork contractors or mechanical subcontractors.
• Experience supporting large commercial or industrial construction projects.
