Job summary

Global Professional Consultants Ireland is seeking Quantity Surveyors and Estimators to join one of Cork’s leading Build Contractors. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to develop their career in the construction industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement and management of subcontractors, as well as producing accurate progress accounts for various projects. A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying and relevant experience is required, along with strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years relevant Irish experience, ideally with a main contractor.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Experience collaborating with project teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

Job description

Quantity Surveyors and Estimators required to join one of Cork’s leading Build Contractors. This client has a large pipeline of work including Hotels, Apartments and Warehousing projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career within the construction industry in an exciting, growing firm.

Role

• Procurement, appointment and management of subcontractors & suppliers through to final account
• Produce accurate progress accounts
• Preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress payments
• Monitor and report on project costs
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns
• Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders
• Stay updated on industry innovations, regulations and related matters

Requirements

• Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying
• Minimum 3 years relevant Irish experience, ideally with a main contractor
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience in Buildsoft, Cubit or Bluebeam preferred
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to build productive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and excellent measurement knowledge
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team player

Salary

• Salary circa €55k – €70k DOE
