Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a well-established main building contractor with its head office in West Cork. The role involves overseeing commercial management across projects in West Cork, Cork City and Kerry, with a focus on cost control and final account delivery.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years’ experience as a QS, strong main contractor background, and proven ability to manage procurement, valuations, variations and reporting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong main contractor background.
• Proven ability to manage procurement to final account.
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Cork and Kerry.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

A well-established main building contractor, with its head office based in West Cork, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with 10+ years’ experience to join their team.

The successful candidate will oversee the commercial management among a range of construction and commercial projects across West Cork, Cork City and Kerry.

Responsibilities:

• Managing commercial and cost control across multiple projects
• Preparing budgets, cost plans, estimates and tender documentation
• Leading subcontractor procurement, negotiations and package management
• Managing interim valuations, variations, claims and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow
• Managing contractual matters and commercial reporting
• Liaising with clients, project managers, engineers and subcontractors
• Providing commercial support and guidance to project teams

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction
• Strong main contractor experience
• Proven experience managing commercial projects from procurement to final account
• Strong knowledge of cost control, contracts and subcontractor management
• Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel across Cork and Kerry
