Job summary

Irish Main Contractor in Co Westmeath is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on a pharmaceutical project. You will report to the Senior QS and collaborate with site and commercial teams on procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.

Experience in subcontractor procurement, cost control and commercial reporting is essential, with a strong main contractor background preferred for a technically demanding pharma build.

The Company

This Irish main contractor has a strong track record delivering large scale construction projects across the pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial and healthcare sectors.

They are currently delivering a multi million euro pharmaceutical project in Co Westmeath and are looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to the commercial team. The project offers good exposure to the commercial management of a technically demanding pharma build, with a strong project team already in place.

The Role: Quantity Surveyor

As Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial and site teams on the delivery of this major pharmaceutical project in Co Westmeath.

You will be involved across subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts, helping maintain tight commercial control as the project progresses.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics qualification required
• Proven experience required in subcontractor procurement, valuations and cost control
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial reporting

Preferred Experience

• Main contractor experience in Ireland preferred
• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial or other technically complex project experience beneficial
• Experience working within a site based commercial team advantageous

About You

You will be a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with solid construction experience and a practical understanding of how projects are delivered on site.

You should be comfortable dealing with subcontractors, managing costs and keeping accurate commercial records while working closely with the Senior QS, Project Manager and site team.

Experience on pharmaceutical construction projects would be beneficial, but a strong main contractor background on large scale building projects will also be considered.
