Job summary

Blackedge Consulting is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its Dublin team. You will work with senior directors on complex public and private sector projects across Ireland, focusing on MEP cost management in pre- and post-contract environments.

You’ll prepare cost plans, budgets and client reports, produce Bills of Quantities for M&E works, and support procurement, tender analysis, and change control while collaborating with clients and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Experience in MEP/Building Services QS.
• Strong cost control and commercial management knowledge.
• Irish public sector MEP procurement knowledge is a plus.
• PW-CF1/PW-CF5 familiarity is useful.
• Chartered or progressing toward Chartership (SCSI or equivalent).
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
• Valid driving licence and ability to Garda vetting.

Job description

I’m working with a leading international construction and cost consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Dublin team with an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor.

This role has been open for some time, so there is genuine flexibility on level and package for the right person.

The key is finding someone who genuinely understands MEP cost management and can operate confidently across both pre- and post-contract environments.

The Role

You’ll be working alongside senior directors and supporting the delivery of complex public and private sector projects across Ireland.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing cost plans, budgets and client reports
• Producing Bills of Quantities for M&E works
• Supporting projects involving MV/HV infrastructure
• Pre-contract estimating and tender analysis
• Bid levelling and procurement support
• Claims and change control
• Working directly with clients, consultants and delivery teams
• Managing project costs with a high degree of autonomy

What They’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Experience within MEP/Building Services Quantity Surveying
• Strong knowledge of cost control and commercial management
• Experience of Irish public sector M&E procurement would be highly advantageous
• Knowledge of PW-CF1 and PW-CF5 would be particularly useful
• Ideally Chartered, or actively progressing towards Chartership through SCSI or another recognised professional body
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• CostX experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
• Full driving licence and ability to complete Garda vetting
