Job description

Sector: Data Centres / Mission Critical Construction

Employment: Permanent

TWG Consulting is recruiting for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor delivering a major data centre project in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with around 3–4 years' experience who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to one of the fastest-growing areas of the European construction market.

You’ll join an experienced commercial team working on a technically complex data centre project, giving you exposure to significant subcontract packages and the opportunity to develop your commercial experience within a supportive project environment.

The position offers a salary of €60,000 – €65,000 per annum plus additional benefits, together with excellent opportunities for progression as the contractor continues to grow its project portfolio across Ireland and Europe.

The Role

Working as part of the project's commercial team, you’ll support the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement through construction and final account.

You’ll work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers, Project Managers and the wider delivery team, while developing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

This is a role where you’ll be given responsibility but will also have access to experienced senior commercial professionals who can support your continued development.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the commercial management of subcontract packages.
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and package awards.
  • Preparing and managing subcontract documentation.
  • Reviewing and assessing subcontractor applications for payment.
  • Managing variations and change control.
  • Supporting cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Monitoring package costs against budgets.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly commercial reports.
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Working closely with project and construction teams to understand progress and potential commercial implications.
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
  • Assisting with final account preparation and agreement.
  • Attending commercial, subcontractor and project meetings.
  • Supporting senior members of the commercial team across the wider project.
About You

We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with approximately 3–4 years' post-graduate experience who wants to continue developing within major construction projects.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
  • Around 3–4 years' experience working within construction.
  • Previous experience working for a main contractor or specialist subcontractor.
  • Experience managing or assisting with subcontract packages.
  • A good understanding of procurement, valuations, variations and cost reporting.
  • Good numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
  • The confidence to communicate effectively with subcontractors and project teams.
  • A proactive approach and a genuine desire to progress your career.

Previous experience within data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, advanced manufacturing or other mission-critical projects would be beneficial but isn’t essential.

We’re equally interested in speaking with strong Quantity Surveyors from the wider construction market who are looking for an opportunity to move into the data centre sector.

What’s On Offer?
  • Additional company benefits.
  • Opportunity to work on a major Dublin data centre project.
  • Exposure to significant and technically complex subcontract packages.
  • Support from an experienced commercial management team.
  • Excellent career development and training opportunities.
  • Clear progression towards Senior Quantity Surveyor.
  • Long-term opportunities across projects in Ireland and Europe.
  • The opportunity to build experience within the rapidly growing mission-critical construction sector.

Previous data centre experience isn’t essential – the right commercial foundation, attitude and ambition are equally important.
