Job summary

Fohntech Group seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Belgium. You will lead commercial management of electrical packages for a major data centre project, overseeing cost reporting and budget control, and reviewing contracts.

Essentially, you’ll handle supplier and sub-contractor enquiries, issue contracts, manage variations, and prepare monthly progress and commercial reports. Strong Excel skills and client negotiation are required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent client negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Excel for reporting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of electrical packages on a major data centre project.
• Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control.
• Review and understand project contract documentation.
• Prepare and analyse supplier and sub-contractor enquiries.
• Prepare and issue contract documents to our supply chain.
• Monitor changes in scope and pricing of variations.
• Prepare and agree monthly progress applications.
• Financial and contractual control of sub-contractor accounts.
• Issue contractual notices and evaluate loss/expense/acceleration claims.
• Provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates.
• Prepare monthly commercial project reports.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Leading commercial management of electrical packages on a major data centre project
• Managing cost reporting, forecasting, and budget control
• Review and understanding project contract documentation
• Preparing and analysing supplier and sub-contractor enquiries
• Preparation and issuing of contract documents to our supply chain
• Monitoring change in our scope of work and pricing of variations
• Preparing and agreeing Monthly progress applications

Essential Criteria for the Role:

• Academically (Degree) qualified and or relevant experience in the industry
• 5-7 years’ experience in a QS role
• A wide understanding of work contracts
• A working knowledge of Electrical Work Packages
• Good with Figures
• Able to negotiate with clients on a professional level
• Experience in use of Excel a requirement
• Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
