Job summary

KCMG Engineering Ltd is a Dublin-based mechanical building services contractor delivering projects across data centres, healthcare, pharma, and commercial developments. We seek a Quantity Surveyor to lead all pre- and post-contract activities on mechanical schemes and ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, has 2+ years of mechanical QS experience, and is proficient with CostX, Trimble, Excel and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in mechanical or building services quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and process pipework.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre- and post-contract quantity surveying activities for mechanical projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, tender submissions, and project cost plans.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor agreements, and contract administration.
• Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, and forecasts to ensure financial control.
• Measure and quantify mechanical works from drawings and specifications; prepare progress claims and final accounts.
• Provide commercial reporting and cost management support to project teams and senior leadership.

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying activities for mechanical projects.

Prepare cost estimates, budgets, tender submissions, and project cost plans.

Manage procurement, subcontractor agreements, and contract administration.

Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, and forecasts to ensure financial control.

Measure and quantify mechanical works from drawings and technical specifications. Prepare and submit progress claims, change orders, delay notices, and final accounts. Provide commercial reporting, contractual advice, and cost management support to project teams and senior leadership.

Conduct site visits, ensure compliance with contractual and HSE requirements, and support the successful delivery of projects.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in mechanical or building services quantity surveying, with a proven track record managing large-scale mechanical projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and process pipework.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficient in industry software such as CostX, Trimble, Excel, and AutoCAD, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
