Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil contractor on large-scale Dublin projects. The role focuses on NEC contracts and civil infrastructure, including residential builds and major infrastructure works.

You will handle procurement, cost control, valuations, and cost reporting while collaborating with project teams to manage risks. A background in Civil Engineering and familiarity with COINS/Primavera P6 are desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying.
• 1 year experience in quantity surveying within Civil Engineering/Construction or internship.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
• Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.

Responsibilities

• Procurement, appointment and management of subcontractors & suppliers through to final account.
• Produce accurate progress accounts.
• Prepare interim and final valuations for progress payments.
• Monitor and report on project costs.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks and cost overruns.
• Assist the pre-construction team in tender delivery.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and innovations.

Job description

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, Ireland’s largest Civil Contractor have an exciting opportunity for Junior Quantity Surveyors to join their team working on a large-scale civil infrastructure projects in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NEC contracts and a strong background in civil engineering projects. Candidates will be working on residential and large civil infrastructure projects.

These include but are not limited to:

• Procurement, appointment and management of subcontractors & suppliers through to final account
• Produce accurate progress accounts
• Preparation and assessment of interim and final valuations for progress payments
• Monitor and report on project costs
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns
• Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders
• Stay updated on industry innovations, regulations etc

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
• 1 year experience in quantity surveying within the Civil Engineering/Construction sector or college placement/ internship
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
• Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
• Proficient in the use of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
