Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting for a newly created Quality Laboratory role in the animal feed and dairy sector in Ireland. You will join a small team as the plant comes into operation and contribute to a broad range of quality tasks.

Working alongside the Quality Lead, you will support laboratory testing, production quality, and traceability across the laboratory, production floor and office. A degree in a related science and a hands-on approach are desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in Food Science, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related technical discipline.
• Understanding of laboratory testing, traceability and food or feed safety.
• Hands-on approach with willingness to learn and flexibility to take on varied duties.
• Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Support laboratory testing and production quality across lab, production floor and office.
• Carry out routine physical and chemical testing on raw materials and finished products (Category 3 dairy powders).
• Complete production quality checks, verify batch formulations and support GMP.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure full traceability of raw materials and finished batches.
• Help maintain quality systems, feed safety standards and procedures, and audit preparation.
• Assist with production scheduling, inventory planning, raw material intake and dispatch documentation.
• Identify quality issues and suggest practical improvements as the new plant gets up and running.

About Your New Job

What Skills You Need

• A degree or diploma in Food Science, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related technical discipline. Graduates and candidates with one or two years of relevant experience are welcome.
• An understanding of laboratory testing, traceability and food or feed safety, gained through study, placement or employment.
• A hands-on approach, a willingness to learn and the flexibility to get involved in varied duties.
• Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues.
