Job summary

The Coca-Cola Company in Wexford, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Lab Analyst to deliver reliable analytical results and to support day‑to‑day laboratory operations within the Ingredient Quality Department.

You will perform routine testing of raw materials and finished products, review data for accuracy, and help maintain GLP compliance while using LIMS and various analytical techniques to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of laboratory experience in a regulated industry.
  • Good understanding of GLP and quality standards.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and SOPs.
  • Familiarity with LIMS or similar data systems (preferable).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and intermediate testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products using approved methods.
  • Record, review and verify analytical data ensuring compliance with methods and quality requirements.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve routine technical issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
  • Support laboratory workflows, prioritisation, throughput, and consistent execution of testing activities.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory instrumentation and perform basic troubleshooting.

About the Job

The Ingredient Quality Department (IQD) assures the quality and integrity of ingredients used in Company products. Working closely with internal and external flavour producers, the team applies analytical, sensorial, and quality‑system knowledge to support manufacturing operations and to confirm ingredient suitability for release.

The Senior Lab Analyst is a skilled technical professional responsible for delivering reliable analytical results while supporting effective day‑to‑day laboratory operations. The role builds depth in analytical capability and begins to take broader ownership of work within defined areas, contributing to consistent performance and incremental improvement.

Operating within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory, the role requires trainer level competence in at least one technical area (eg. Sensory, GC-FID, In-process) and technical competence to perform GC/MS, GCMSMS or LCMSMS independently.

This role requires working on a shift pattern.

What You’ll Do

Flexibility is expected; the following represent the core technical and leadership accountabilities of the role.

  • Perform routine and intermediate-level testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products using approved analytical and sensory methods.
  • Accurately record, review and verify analytical data, ensuring compliance with defined methods, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve routine technical issues, escalating more complex problems as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the effective running of laboratory workflows by supporting prioritisation, throughput and consistent execution of testing activities.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory instrumentation, performing routine checks, basic troubleshooting and ensuring readiness for use.
  • Support method verification, calibration activities and minor method improvements through practical application and feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and cross‑functional partners to ensure timely and effective support for manufacturing operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, data quality and workflow performance.
  • Use LIMS and associated systems to ensure accurate sample tracking, data entry and result processing.
  • Apply knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) to ensure reliable, compliant execution of laboratory activities, while supporting adherence within the team.
  • Build technical knowledge and confidence through hands‑on experience, training and exposure to different analytical techniques and workflows.
  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and collaboration, contributing to a positive and effective team environment.
  • Develop awareness of the broader impact of analytical work and escalates issues that may affect quality or operations.
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. degree in Chemistry or related discipline (required).
Skills & Experience
  • Typically 2–5 years’ laboratory experience in a regulated industry (e.g. food, pharmaceutical, chemical).
  • Good understanding of GLP and quality standards.
  • Experience working with laboratory instrumentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Familiarity with LIMS or similar data systems (preferred).Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined methods accurately.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
