Job summary

Merck Gruppe - MSD Sharp & Dohme in Ireland (Carlow) seeks a QC Planning & Laboratory Systems Specialist to end-to-end plan, coordinate, and optimize QC Release and Stability activities supporting manufacturing.

The role combines lab planning, capacity management, data analytics, and laboratory systems expertise to ensure efficient sample flow, on-time testing, and continuous improvement in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• 3+ years' regulated pharma/life sciences experience.
• Experience supporting QC lab operations, planning, scheduling or capacity management.
• Experience using GLIMS or other LIMS.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated laboratory plans supporting QC Release, Stability, Validation, PPQ, and ad hoc testing activities.
• Coordinate sample demand forecasts and testing priorities with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, QA, Stability, and other stakeholders.
• Create and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and long-range laboratory schedules.
• Balance laboratory workloads across analysts, instruments and contract labs.
• Monitor execution against schedules and identify risks, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.
• Support prioritization of activities to meet critical timelines.
