Job summary

My Client, a Leading Construction/ Fabrication company, is seeking a Buyer to join their busy Cork office

The Buyer will manage suppliers, negotiate agreements, forecast price trends, and work with the procurement team to ensure materials for customer orders and projects. Strong IT skills, Excel, and ERP experience (SAP advantageous) are required; construction procurement experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement or procurement within construction.
• Excellent IT skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage supplier agreements and forecast price trends.
• Collaborate with procurement team to ensure material availability for orders and projects.
• Identify supply issues affecting timelines and address them promptly.
• Review purchasing requests and ensure value is optimised.

My Client, a Leading Construction/ Fabrication, is in need of aBuyer to join their busy office based on the outskirts of Cork City

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to join a world class and innovative Construction/ Fabrication company. My client has continued to grow over the past year and there are many opportunities for growth in the industry to the right Buyer.

The duties for the Buyer would include:

• Manage existing and new suppliers of materials, by negotiating and developing agreements with suppliers and the forecasting of price trend & impact on future activities.
• Work closely as part of a procurement team to ensure continuity of parts and materials as needed for customer orders and client projects
• Identify any possible supply issues which would interferewith the forecasted timelines for projects in a efficientand timely manner
• Manage all Direct Material spend ensuring value is optimised.
• Review and approve purchasing requests as required.
• Any other duties deemed as necessary by Line manager

The requirements for the Buyer include but are not limited to:

• Excellent IT skills- Use of Excel, Office, Word etc. Use of ERP systems such as SAP is advantageous but not essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience in an similar Procurement role or Procurement within the Construction Industry
• Relevant qualification or Certificationin Supply Chain or Procurement
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Highly organisedand detail oriented
