Job summary

GHL Recruitment is seeking a part-time Project Manager to lead a public sector fit-out and relocation programme from brief through to occupation. The role is 3 days per week on-site with potential for more days, offering involvement from design to handover and compliance oversight.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years in a similar role, a relevant project management qualification, and strong experience delivering fit-out projects with hands-on site delivery.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Relevant degree/qualification in project management.
• Demonstrable experience delivering fit-out projects, not just coordinating them.
• Experience with building handover/acceptance, snagging and certification.
• Experience planning relocations or decants of occupied space.
• Strong site-based capability reading drawings and resolving buildability issues.
• Knowledge of Irish building regulations and health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fit-out projects end to end: scoping, design coordination, procurement, on-site delivery, snagging and handover.
• Manage phased building acceptance inspections, snag lists, certification and handover documentation.
• Plan and manage relocation and decant of occupants to new space, including move sequencing and logistics.
• Prepare briefs, cost estimates and programmes; manage budgets against funding.
• Procure contractors, fit-out specialists, movers and suppliers, including mini-competitions and small-value tenders.
• Manage contractors and consultants directly on site daily oversight, quality control and issue resolution.
• Sequence works and moves to minimise disruption to ongoing operations.
• Ensure health and safety compliance (PSDP/PSCS, RAMS, permits to work) and statutory certification.
• Maintain project documentation: cost tracking, change control, progress reports and risk register.

Job description

We're recruiting for a Project Manager (Part-Time) to join a public sector organisation. This fixed-term, part-time role three days per week is ideal for an experienced Project Manager, Fit-Out Manager, Site Manager or Construction Project Manager looking to take ownership of a fit-out and relocation programme from brief through to occupation, on a flexible part-time basis. Working closely with facilities and operations teams, you'll manage fit-out delivery, building handover and acceptance, relocation and decant planning, contractor and supplier procurement, budgets and health and safety compliance in a hands-on, site-based role.

Location: City Centre South

Contract: Fixed-Term (69 months), Part-Time 3 days per week (with potential for increased days)/ Onsite

Salary: €58,476 pa pro rata

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience planning and executing relocations or decants of occupied space.
• Strong site-based capability managing trades directly, reading drawings, resolving buildability issues.
• Working knowledge of Irish building regulations, health and safety legislation and construction procurement.
• Budget management and cost control experience.
• Public sector procurement experience (OGP frameworks, eTenders) would be an advantage but is not essential.
