Job summary

BMS Performance Ireland is seeking a Project Manager to own renewable energy and construction projects across southern Ireland, delivering from early construction through commissioning and handover.

You will lead day‑to‑day delivery of solar and energy infrastructure, manage programmes and resources, coordinate civil, electrical and mechanical scopes, and oversee subcontractors with a strong focus on health and safety, budget and client relations.

Project Manager – Renewable Energy / Construction

Location: Waterford | Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: €70,000–€85,000

The Company

An international energy business, delivering projects across Europe through regional delivery teams.

In Ireland, the company is active in the renewables sector, with a growing pipeline of solar PV and associated infrastructure projects.

Work is typically delivered under EPC contracts, involving full lifecycle responsibility from design and build through to commissioning and handover.

The Role

The Project Manager will take ownership of renewable energy projects throughout southern Ireland, managing delivery from early construction through commissioning and handover.

  • Lead day‑to‑day delivery of solar and energy infrastructure projects
  • Manage programme, resources and sequencing across multiple work fronts
  • Oversee subcontractors and coordinate civil, electrical and mechanical scopes
  • Track progress, identify risks and deal with delays or constraints early
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental and statutory requirements
  • Manage commissioning, energisation and final handover to client
  • Handle contract administration including variations, claims and reporting
  • Act as main point of contact for clients, consultants and stakeholders

This is a delivery‑focused Project Manager role with full visibility across programme, technical and commercial aspects.

The Person

The role is open to candidates from construction, utilities or renewable energy backgrounds.

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Typically 5+ years’ Project Management experience
  • Backgrounds may include Project Manager, Site Manager stepping up, or Engineer with strong delivery experience
  • Experience in solar, utilities or infrastructure projects is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of civil, electrical and mechanical scopes
  • Comfortable managing programmes (MS Project / Primavera or similar)
  • Good commercial awareness, including budgets, valuations and cost tracking
  • Confident managing multidisciplinary teams and dealing with external stakeholders
