Job summary

Flogas Ireland is seeking a Project Manager to join the newly formed PMO, guiding strategic and operational initiatives. You will coordinate between management, stakeholders, IT, and vendors to ensure projects meet time, budget, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as a PM in energy/utilities IT & business projects.
• In-depth knowledge of SDLC and change control processes.
• Proven track record delivering full project lifecycles: planning, budgeting, resourcing, risk/issue mgmt.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication across all levels, including senior leadership.
• Experience leading change management for new systems and processes.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid governance frameworks; PM qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of projects from initiation through closure, ensuring scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, resource plans, and track progress; manage risks, issues, dependencies.
• Act as primary contact for stakeholders; build strong relationships across business, IT, vendors.
• Develop and execute stakeholder management and communication plans for different audiences and phases.
• Manage change management activities: readiness, training, communications to support adoption.
• Facilitate governance and project intelligence: steering committees, status reporting, metrics.
• Manage project budgets and resourcing; monitor spend and escalate as needed.
• Identify, assess, mitigate risks and issues; drive resolution.
• Ensure IT projects follow SDLC and control points; ensure documentation and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with BAs and technical teams to translate requirements into outcomes.
• Ensure handover to BAU; contribute to PMO process improvements and governance.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our newly formed PMO team and support definition and delivery of key strategic and operational initiatives across the business. The Project Manager is a critical communication and control role between Flogas management, business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors. The role may lead IT and business projects, working closely with stakeholders at all levels to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard. The "People" side of change is critical in Flogas and the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring change curve milestones are planned & achieved to maximise adoption and benefit realisation.

They will play a critical role in improving processes, driving efficiency, best practices and supporting transformation within a fast paced environment ranging on initiatives from operational efficiency / continuous improvement, commercial / product, regulatory, digital transformation, safety etc

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring scope, time, cost, and quality objectives are met


• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and resource plans, tracking progress and proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies


• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, building strong working relationships across the business, IT, vendors / third parties


• Develop and execute stakeholder management and communication plans tailored to the needs of different audiences and project phases


• Consider & manage change management activities, including impact assessments, readiness planning, training coordination, and communications to support adoption of new systems and processes


• Facilitate project governance & project intelligence, including steering committees, status reporting, metrics and trend analysis


• Manage project budgets and resourcing, tracking spend against forecast and escalating as needed


• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating appropriately and driving resolution


• Ensure IT projects follow appropriate SDLC process and monitor control points


• Work closely with Business Analysts and technical teams to ensure requirements are translated into successful project outcomes


• Ensure appropriate project documentation, controls, and lessons learned are maintained and shared to support continuous improvement of the PMO


• Ensure sufficient handover to BAU is completed as part of the project


• As this is a newly formed team, contribute to shaping the project delivery framework, methodology, and governance standards

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have:

• minimum 5 years experience as a PM ideally within the energy / utilities sector across IT & business projects


• In-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience of SDLC and change control processes


• Proven track record of managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, and risk/issue management


• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership


• Demonstrated experience leading change management activities to support successful adoption of new systems, processes, or ways of working


• Solid understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) and governance frameworks


• Project management qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) desirable


• Proficiency in MS Office is essential, knowledge of Asana, FreshService and Devops desirable


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously


• Be proactive, outcome-driven mindset with a focus on best practice, continuous improvement, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
