Flogas Ireland Ltd seeks an energetic Commercial Growth Lead to drive the day-to-day management and expansion of the CNG business within Flogas Enterprise Solutions. You will work with the Energy Services Manager to expand the customer base, develop new sites, and build strategic partnerships across logistics and transport sectors.
The role requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to coordinate across front, middle, and back offices.
Reporting to the Energy Services Manager, this person will be responsibility for the day-to-day management and business development of the CNG business. The Compressed Gas fuel market in Ireland presents a real growth opportunity for Flogas Enterprise Solutions (FES) and this role exists to lead and manage FES business operations in this area. The purpose of this role is to generate revenue and margin through the development of new stations; growth of customer portfolio; creation of strategic partnerships & additional margin opportunities.
Work with the Energy Services manager in the creation and development of the business line. Liaise across departments within FES to ensure the seamless integration of the business line with the wider business and facilitate the creation, consolidation, and optimization of operational processes. Engage and manage external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective development of the business unit. Support the Growth in offering to customers; and expansion through internal and external partnerships. Support the Energy Services Manager in the development of the business line from management of current contracts, through to business growth for further sites. Work closely with front/middle and back-office teams to ensure that all sites and contracts are ran efficiently and effectively. Development new business opportunities and win new contracts with logistics companies to use Flogas station and partner sites. Support in the preparation ofbusiness cases for potential new sites and resources Support in the financial model analysis for new and existing sites Working closely with external stakeholders for new projects within design teams to deliver new projects. Everything from the network operator to Landowners, engineering consultants, safety consultants and equipment providers. Develop and manage the commercial offering within FES, working closely with the commercial team to find new opportunities. Assist with the training of staff on internal process changes; development and documentation of internal processes; safety reporting; Meeting regulatory requirements; KPI reporting. Support the growth of the CNG business through engagement with customers and haulers. Report on business line activities (eg: contract management, turnover, margin, billing, process optimization, new business development) Support in the planning for growth of the CNG business unit through vision and strategy contributions. Support the team to execute the business unit growth strategy. Operational & Contract Management Support the Energy Services Manager in managing existing CNG contracts and commercial arrangements. Work closely with front, middle and back-office teams to ensure sites and contracts operate efficiently and effectively. Liaise across FES departments to ensure the CNG business is effectively integrated with the wider organisation. Support the creation, documentation, consolidation and continuous improvement of operational and commercial processes. Assist with staff training relating to new or amended internal processes. Support safety reporting, regulatory compliance and other governance requirements relevant to the CNG business. Performance & Strategy Monitor and report on key business activities including contract performance, turnover, margin, billing, site utilisation, process improvements and new business development. Develop and maintain relevant KPIs to support effective management of the business. Provide commercial and operational insights to support decision-making. Contribute to the longer-term vision, strategy and growth plans for the CNG business. Support the wider Energy Services team in executing the agreed business unit growth strategy.
Essential Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Energy, Finance, Project Management or another relevant discipline. Typically 35 years' relevant professional experience within business development, commercial management, energy, infrastructure, transport, engineering, utilities or a related sector. Demonstrable experience working in a commercial or business development environment, with an understanding of revenue generation, margin and customer growth. Experience developing and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers, partners or other external stakeholders. Strong commercial and numerical capability, with experience contributing to business cases, financial models, pricing or commercial analysis. Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and activities across commercial, operational and project environments. Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels. Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable analysing business performance and producing clear KPI and management reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel to customer, partner and project locations as required. Desirable Previous experience within the energy, gas, renewable energy, transport, logistics, infrastructure or utilities sectors. Knowledge or experience of CNG, Bio‑CNG, biomethane or alternative transport fuels would be advantageous but is not essential. Experience working with logistics companies, fleet operators, hauliers or transport‑related customers. Exposure to infrastructure development, including working with engineering consultants, network operators, landowners, contractors or equipment suppliers. Experience supporting capital investment proposals or infrastructure business cases. Understanding of health & safety, regulatory and compliance requirements within an energy or infrastructure environment. Experience contributing to the development of a new or growing business line would be an advantage.
We are looking for a commercially minded and proactive business professional who is comfortable operating across business development, commercial analysis, stakeholder management and project delivery. The successful candidate does not necessarily need to be a CNG technical specialist from day one. More important is a strong commercial mindset, the ability to understand the economics of new opportunities, build relationships with customers and partners, and coordinate effectively with technical specialists and project stakeholders. This role would particularly suit someone with 35 years' experience who is ready to take greater ownership of a developing business area, while continuing to work closely with the Energy Services Manager on strategy, investment decisions and larger‑scale commercial opportunities.
