Job summary

Circet Ireland & UK is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support large-scale civil and underground HV projects in Dublin. You will plan, coordinate design input, ensure safety and quality, and manage subcontractor performance on site.

The ideal candidate has a degree in civil engineering or construction management, 4–5 years’ experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and setting-out equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 4–5 years' experience in civil/roadworks and utilities.
• Knowledge of setting out equipment: Trimble GPS, robotic total station, leveling equipment.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience is an advantage.
• Experience with roadworks and utility installations, especially underground power.
• Quality control of engineering materials on site and health & safety on site.
• Ability to manage sub-contractors and understand roadworks specifications.
• Good technical knowledge across civil works.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your role as senior civil engineer is to assist in the delivery of large-scale projects in the civils and power division. The Project Engineer will assume responsibility for planning, organising, technical compliance and delivering civil engineering and underground HV cable design and build projects to scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements. The successful candidate will ensure project excellence in safety, technical compliance, site management, stakeholder coordination, and assist the commercial team.

Main Purpose:

• To promote and ensure high standards of Health, Safety and Quality on projects
• Ensure technical compliance of the works
• Responsible for supervising and managing sub-contractors
• Liaising with client management team and designers
• Coordinate design activities and input into design elements
• Ensure the company's image and profile at site level is professional

Key Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and with company health & safety policy on all sites under control
• Ensuring accuracy in setting out all elements of works including structures, road alignments and service installations
• Compiling as-builts using AutoCAD & Civil 3d
• Coordinate design and work with designers to develop works designs
• Oversee quality control on site for all aspects of the works
• Ensure Traffic Management arrangements are in accordance with the relevant traffic management plans
• Managing all aspects of the works on site on a daily basis
• Monitoring and recording progress on site and assisting in updating the works programme
• Management of material deliveries on site and checking quality of materials
• Supervising sub-contractors works on site
• Attend regular site meetings with construction team, design team and client
• Maintaining daily site records
• Working closely with the project manager in the delivery of roadworks and utility projects

Skills and Experience:

• Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Minimum 4-5 years' experience
• Knowledge of setting out equipment - Trimble GPS, robotic total station, levelling equipment
• Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D an advantage
• Experience of roadworks and utility installations, particularly underground power
• Experience in quality control of engineering materials on site
• Ability to maintain high levels of health, safety & quality on site
• Ability to manage sub-contractors
• Knowledge of relevant roadworks specifications
• Good technical knowledge
