Job summary

Circet Ireland & UK is seeking a Civils Site Supervisor to join our Dublin team. You will be responsible for supervising civil works related to underground power ducting, coordinating installations, and ensuring work is performed to drawings and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, effective communication with stakeholders, and flexibility to work outside ordinary hours as road licensing conditions require. A background in civils/utilities projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in civils/utilities.
• Desirable experience with underground power ducting or large utility installations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily site operations for underground power ducting and civil works.
• Coordinate duct installation, joint bays, draw pits, encasement, backfilling, reinstatement.
• Ensure works follow drawings, method statements and specifications.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, utilities, authorities and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress and report delays or issues to line manager.

About the Role:

Circet is Ireland’s leading provider of telecommunications and power infrastructure services. We deliver large-scale engineering projects for local authorities and major utilities, including ESB Networks, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation. As our Power Division continues to grow and on the back of an increasing workload, we are seeking a Civils Site Supervisor with knowledge of roadworks, civils and utilities activities. Experience on large scale underground power and telecoms projects would be desirable.

Responsibilities of a Civils Site Supervisor:

• Supervise daily site operations for underground power ducting and associated civil works
• Coordinate duct installation, joint bays, draw pits, concrete encasement, backfilling, and reinstatement
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, method statements, and specifications
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Utility Providers (e.g. ESB Networks), Local Authorities, and subcontractors
• Monitor progress against programme and report delays or issues proactively
• Supervise direct labour and subcontractors on site
• Allocate tasks and ensure productivity targets are met
• Monitor workmanship and address performance or quality issues
• Coordinate plant, materials, and deliveries
• Carry out joint site meetings with client and other relevant stakeholders.
• Carry out toolbox audits and safety audits with both direct staff and sub-contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all roadworks permits and licence conditions are being met on site.
• Keep accurate daily records of works planned and issues encountered.
• Report daily to your line manager of outputs, problems, issues.
• Carry out other duties as requested by the line manager.
• Record daily progress and records on a mobile handheld device

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

• Comfortable and confident working to tight timescales effectively
• Experience of dealing with external stakeholders and communicating effectively
• Candidates should be professional; self-motivated with good communication and leadership skills and be able to integrate fully into the project delivery team
• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role on civil or utilities projects
• Experience in underground power ducting (LV/MV/HV) or other large utility installations desirable
• Good knowledge of trenching, reinstatement, and live utility environments
• Strong understanding of Irish health & safety requirements
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• There will be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours in accordance with the road licencing conditions
