Job summary

Nayr Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer for a major healthcare project in Cavan. The two-year contract offers progression opportunities and works within a Tier 1 client framework.

You will oversee tendering, contractor and consultant appointments, chair meetings, and ensure that buildings, services and equipment are maintained and compliant with maintenance programmes and contracts. Also manage information flow and mitigate delays.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Degree in Building Services, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Surveying.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in construction management.
• Knowledge of current construction contracts and procurement methodologies.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from start to finish.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Keeping project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and issues.
• Oversee the tender and contractor/consultant appointment process.
• Chair and minute project review meetings.
• Ensure buildings, services and equipment are maintained per approved programmes.
• Ensure timely information flow between all contract parties.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement remedies.
• Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants.
• Monitor build and material quality.
• Ensure contractor and consultancy contractual compliance.
• Assist in front-end design planning and procurement for other projects.

Project Engineer

Based on a major Healthcare project in Cavan, two year contract initially with prospects for advancement.

We are a Tier 1 Supplier of Recruitment services to our client, a public body with an extensive Estate's department for design, specification, project management, supervision and procurement associated with major and minor capital building projects and refurbishment works. A critical objective for the involves optimising the existing Estate value and delivering best value for money.

Duties

• Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issues.
• Oversee the tender and contractor / consultant appointment process.
• Chair and minute project review meetings.
• Ensuring that all buildings, services, and equipment under their control are adequately maintained in accordance with approved maintenance programmes.
• Ensure smooth and timely flow of information between all parties to the contract.
• Endeavour to identify and predict potential bottlenecks and delays and action remedies.
• Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants.
• Monitor build and material quality.
• Ensure contractor and consultancy contractual compliance.
• Assist in the front-end design planning and procurement of other projects within our client's portfolio.

Candidate Requirements
