Job summary

Nayr Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager - Construction for a Tier 1 supplier to a public body’s extensive Estate department. The role covers design, specification, project management, supervision and procurement for major and minor capital building projects and refurbishments.

The successful candidate will help optimise estate value and deliver best value for money, while assisting in managing the construction programme and cost plan to minimise impact from variations.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Surveying.

Responsibilities

• Keeping stakeholders informed of progress, cost and issues.
• Oversee tender and contractor/consultant appointments.
• Chair and minute project review meetings.
• Ensure buildings, services and equipment are maintained per approved programmes.
• Maintain smooth information flow between contract parties.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement remedies.
• Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants.
• Monitor build and material quality.
• Ensure contractual compliance by contractors and consultants.
• Assist in front-end design planning and procurement within the client portfolio.

Project Manager - Construction We are a Tier 1 Supplier of Recruitment services to our client, a public body with an extensive Estate's department for design, specification, project management, supervision and procurement associated with major and minor capital building projects and refurbishment works. Role offers a defined career path with great potential for progression. A critical objective for the involves optimising the existing Estate value and delivering best value for money. The successful applicant will assist in managing and monitoring both the construction programme and cost plan with a view to minimising the impact on same of any variations to the project.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

• Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issues.
• Oversee the tender and contractor / consultant appointment process
• Chair and minute project review meetings.
• Ensuring that all buildings, services, and equipment under their control are adequately maintained in accordance with approved maintenance programmes.
• Ensure smooth and timely flow of information between all parties to the contract.
• Endeavour to identify and predict potential bottlenecks and delays and action remedies.
• Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants.
• Monitor build and material quality.
• Ensure contractor and consultancy contractual compliance.
• Assist in the front-end design planning and procurement of other projects within our clients portfolio.

Requirements

Our client is seeking candidates that:

• Level 8 Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Surveying.
• Have a minimum of 8 years experience in construction management
• Have a knowledge of current construction contracts and procurement methodologies.
• Have a proven track record of seeing projects through to their successful completion.
• Have a full driving licence.
